Submit AP World Languages Work in the AP Digital Portfolio

Beginning with the 2026-27 school year, the six AP world language and culture exams (AP Chinese, AP French, AP German, AP Italian, AP Japanese, and AP Spanish Language and Culture) include a new project component for which you’ll complete research during the year.

About the Project

You’ll complete a course project ahead of exam day to prepare for 2 speaking free-response questions on the exam: the Project Presentation and the Project Q&A.

The Course Project Packet, which includes the project prompt and source materials will be released in January via the AP Digital Portfolio. Additional details about accessing the AP Digital Portfolio will be available in January.

You’ll work on your project from January through April and submit a Personalized Project Reference—an outline of your presentation—through the AP Digital Portfolio.

April 30, 2027, 11:59 p.m. ET is the deadline to submit your Personalized Project Reference through the AP Digital Portfolio.

The AP coordinator at the school where you take the exam will download and print your Personalized Project Reference and give it to your proctor on exam day so you can reference it while taking the exam.
